Open Weight CV GenAI Models - FLUX.2

· 1 min read

On the front of generative AI for computer vision, there have been a lot of discussions on the more popular models like Nano Banana 2.

While Nano Banana 2 is impressive, I am more excited about the release of FLUX.2 by the Black Forest Labs.

The world of open weight & self-hostable models for computer vision used to be dominated by Stable Diffusion, until various other competing models enter the scene like Qwen (By Alibaba) and Hunyuan (By Tencent).

Among these models, I had a good experience using FLUX.1 in the past for image generation and editing.

The FLUX model family typically comes in multiple variations, going from pro version that is closed source and hosted to dev version that is open source and self-hostable.

FLUX.2 models claimed to have improved capabilities for real-world creative workflows - e.g. maintain character and style consistency, better editing ability.
